Gym Work out

Yesterday, I started my first day at working out again at my company's gym. It felt great to be back doing weights and hitting the treadmill.  I plan to keep this workout routine daily at the gym, running or walking at least 2 miles or more each day. It's been like 8 months since I was able to have "free" time to squeeze it in. Now that we have a new or 4th analyst on the team at work, it's great to not having constant pressure to finish too much work.

I'm not big on New Year's resolutions, but since it's just the beginning of a new 2013 year, I do believe it's a good idea to have realistic achievable goals/visions and plans/road map well thought out so that we know what we've accomplished. So, here are my goals:

  1. Maintain good health. Aside from keeping up with my monthly Doctor visits and taking my vitamins/Xalkori pills twice per day, I've added working out and going to my weekly acupuncturist as part of my wellness goal.
  2. Keeping up with the kids learning and participating in activities so that they are well adjusted, be academically on target/challenged and well, inspires/fosters them to continuously be curious, learning and happy.
  3. Just live happily and with gratitude.
To achieve the second goal, the kids are already busy with starting back the following activities.
  • Kumon for Ethan and Ellen
  • Preschool for the girls, 5 days morning, 9-12 PM classes
  • Swimming classes for all 3
  • Dancing classes for girls
  • Ellen and perhaps Emma will also be a ballet class so that by June, they will be performing at a recital to showcase their talent and hard work.
  • Piano classes for Ethan and perhaps Ellen
  • Soccer for Ethan
  • Ethan's also already enrolled our local Evergreen Little League for Spring. Practice starts end of Feb and games start March. This will run through the end of the school year. Soccer should be ending when his baseball/tee ball begins.
  • Weekly family movie nights/play dates and making time to hang out with friends and family. So, friends/family, keep inviting us to dinner/play dates/ Birthday parties, so that we can all catch up.
My other "wish" list goals/aspirations include:
  • Of course become cancer free/NED (No evidence of disease), if not continued stability is great too
  • My hubby to quit smoking. I've order an E-cigarette kit so that he can hopefully kick it for good. My carpool buddy, tried the e-cigarette for 1-2 months and now he doesn't even crave a cigarette at all. That's pretty amazing. So, hopefully it works and a goal I hope my hubby accomplishes.
  • Travelling more. I'd like to at least travel, to at least travel to Vietnam some day. Exploring the world and places would be ultimately be ideal (yeah, if we win a jackpot).
  • Read good books, watch good movies, eat lots of good food.
Well, the kids are calling at me now..so back to reality and being a busy mom. Lots of Love.

Happy New Year

Happy New year. Like today, time seems to fly by so fast. After doing one errand of taking the kids to the mall to exchange some clothes for smaller sizes it was soon nightfall. Speaking of time, I wish I can walk back in time and change everything. I wish my cancer was found sooner at an early stage and that it was curable. More than anything, I want to be here for my kids, to be there for them to help guide them through life. It's a heavy burden and my heart breaks that I will leave my kids motherless due to this. But, as usual, before I let my worrisome thoughts of death, dying and all the negative, depressive grief overtake me, I must find ways to be strong and be positive for them. Late at night, I do my nightly research on all the ways to fight cancer and to cure cancer. I look for real stories and bloggers on how others, like me, face their paths.

It's unreal that I have this. So unfair. But, after watching the movie, the Letter Writer, I realized that I too must live life beautifully and positively, no matter what life brings upon me. I'm glad I made it through 2012, seeing Ethan start first grade, seeing him play soccer and seeing the girls dance. It's amazing how much all the kids have grown this year. Ellen's doing so well in her Kumon and school work. She's just a joy to talk to and play with. Emma, with your fearless attitude and the most adorable laugh and zest personality, you are so   precious.

So here's to another hopeful good year in 2013. Happy New Year's. Lots of Love.
